The company began conducting business on January 3, 1994. Principals Andy Tvardzik and Dave Dassoulas began working around 1980 for General Contractors and obtained extensive experience working for R. A. Zimmerman and Sons, Inc. General Contractors and Dustin Construction, Inc. respectively in the years preceding establishing Hope Builders.

After working for his father as a carpenter through his teens, Andy Tvardzik spent 10 years with R. A. Zimmerman and Sons, Inc. General Contractors as a carpenter and Salesman/Project Manager and then at the request of Dave Dassoulas, started a new division at Dustin Construction, Inc. focusing on small additions and remodeling projects. In a year and a half, the division grew from Andy alone to over 10 employee’s. The vision for a mission driven company lead Dave and Andy to resign their positions to establish a new company.

Hope Builders is a unique company in the construction industry. When co-founders Andy Tvardzik and Dave Dassoulas chose a name for the company in 1994, they included the word “hope” to reflect their strong feelings of optimism and longing for a positive outcome for customers and associates. Andy and Dave believe God called them to build a company that serves customers best through satisfied employees.

“The mission and vision statements have been a guide and tool to maintain the essence of who Hope Builders is. We have experienced amazing grace since our inception, and we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our rock and our redeemer. It is our desire that others may share in the peace and joy that we experience by proclaiming the gospel through our words and actions. This is our greatest hope.”

To help realize this vision, Hope Builders allocates a portion of its profits to promote “Cross Centered” ministry throughout the local community and around the world.
